Frequently Asked Questions About the Mahindra EarthMaster SX Backhoe Loader

Answers to the most common questions about Mahindra Backhoe Loaders, specifications, technology, on-site support and warranty.

The EarthMaster SX is a 55 kW (74 HP) backhoe loader with a turbocharged intercooled Mahindra NEF engine and mechanical levers. It is built for heavier digging and loading than the SXE, with Auto-Idle, fuel-saving mode selection and iMAXX telematics. The SX comes with 2WD and also has a 4WD option.

The SX has a 4-cylinder, 3,500 cc turbocharged intercooled engine delivering 55 kW (74 HP) at 1,950 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 1,100 to 1,200 rpm. The open-centre hydraulic system runs at 25 MPa (3,675 psi) with a 112 litre pump delivery at 2,150 rpm.

The SX digs to a maximum depth of 4.950 m with a ground-level reach of 5,700 mm from the slew centre and a maximum working height of 5,241 mm. Side reach to the machine centre is 6,324 mm, and the backhoe bucket capacity is 0.27 m³.

The SX includes Auto-Idle, drive mode selection for fuel optimisation, advanced hydraulics and iMAXX telematics for real-time monitoring of machine health and location. These help reduce idle fuel burn and let owners track hours and utilisation across a fleet.

Mahindra describes the SX as best-in-class for fuel consumption. Hydraulic oil only needs changing every 3,000 hours, the large radiator prevents overheating in peak summer, and the heavy-duty structure uses 2 mm thicker plates in high-stress areas. Fuel tank capacity is 140 litres.

The EarthMaster SX comes with a 2 year warranty. Standard exclusions apply, so ask your dealer for the full terms. Service is available through Mahindra's authorised service centres, with genuine parts and attachments.
